Basket Bases Australia has certainly grown since that first spark of an idea!  We have grown into a community that is passionate about celebrating creativity, bringing colour and joy into your homes and providing you with the highest quality materials and supplies to create your own crochet baskets and handmade decor.

At Basket Bases Australia,  we offer you an incredible range of timber and acrylic Basket Bases, decorative lids, and accessories. 

From design to delivery, our aim is to share joy and hope with each person we encounter along the way, and help them to reach their creative potential.

Meet Cait!

Cait is the founder and owner of Basket Bases Australia.  With her husband, she is raising four young kids on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Queensland.  Taking up crochet when pregnant with her first child, she quickly became addicted to the craft.  While on maternity leave from her job as a Special Education Teacher, Cait began making crochet baskets and started a small business called Woven Glory.  She sold finished baskets and home décor items to friends and acquaintances.   As the demand for her baskets increased, Cait looked for ways to produce faster, stronger, easier and more desirable baskets for her customers.  

With the help of her wonderful friends, and now team members (Ray and Sheri from SunRay Laser and Design), she began to experiment with designing a basket base.  After many weeks of trial and error, tweaking and perfecting, she became the first in Australia to produce her very own high quality timber Basket Base.

This useful tool (which she created to solve her own maker-business problems!) soon caught the eye of fellow creatives and crocheters.  Cait’s vision grew to include sharing her stunning basket bases with other makers in the crochet community, as well as providing tips, support and tutorials to help other craft lovers learn to make their very own creations. And so Basket Bases Australia  was born!

Cait cares deeply about building connections with people from all walks of life and is so grateful for the opportunity to meet, work with, collaborate, teach and share with the wonderful folk who come in contact with Basket Bases Australia.  Cait’s dream is to one day grow enough to build our team to include, skill and employ members of the community who have difficulty maintaining positions in the general workforce due to health needs and disability.

Basket Bases Australia is proud to supply unique tools and supplies to crocheters, makers, crafters, fibre-artists and a number of craft and yarn stores right across the country!  It is an absolute pleasure to work in the wonderful handmade industry.  We look forward to where we are going, but love to look back to see from where we have come.
